Photography is a powerful tool for storytelling, connection, and preservation. "Through Your Lens" is a space dedicated to showcasing the perspectives of our readers; photographers who see the world with depth, passion, and purpose. Each issue, we invite you to submit a collection of images and a brief write-up based on a specific theme. Our goal is to create a dialogue through photography, encouraging both personal reflection and broader conversations about the landscapes, environments, and stories that shape us. Selected submissions will be featured in an upcoming issue of Gathered Light Magazine.

Call for Submissions – Issue Seven

Issue Seven: Waterways

Issue 7 explores waterways as living systems. Rivers, estuaries, and coastal currents connect landscapes that may appear separate, linking mountains to oceans and communities to ecosystems through continuous flow. Through photography, essays, and field observations, this issue looks at the relationships that form along these waterways and the responsibilities that arise from living within their reach.

If you’d like to be featured, we welcome two paths of participation:

1- • Through Your Lens submissions: Send 4–6 images along with a brief written description (one to two paragraphs) about your connection to the subject.

What drew you to photograph these images? What do they teach us about resilience, relationship, or responsibility?

2- • Q&A features If you feel your work would be better suited to a longer feature or interview, please email us first. We’re happy to discuss how your perspective might be included.

Submission requirements: Please include:

• High-resolution images (where possible)

• A short written text (Word document or PDF)

• A contact email with your submission

Selected submissions will be published in Issue Seven of Gathered Light Magazine.
